Cholesterol Lowered

Avocado – The Clinically Proven Most Powerful Fruit To Lower Your Cholesterol In Only 7 Days.

Why Avocado? Most people call it a vegetable because it’s green. However, technically speaking the avocado is a fruit, and even more specifically a single-seeded berry. Personally, I categorise an avocado under fats because a medium size avocado (150 grams) has about 240 calories, meaning 12 calories per 3 grams from protein 12 calories (3 grams + 9 grams fiber) from carbohydrates 216 of calories (24 grams) being from fat (90% of the calories).

Now, the type of fat is the key to avocado’s “cholesterol lowering” secret, we’ll touch on that in a minute. As far as clinical proof for improving your cholesterol is concern, one study saw a 16% decrease in total cholesterol after only 7 days of a diet high in monounsaturated fat from avocados and a 22% decrease of both LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides, along with an 11% increase of HDL cholesterol, “the good cholesterol”.

In another study, the participants saw an average drop of 14 points in the bad LDL cholesterol with a higher avocado diet. The reason for avocado’s working so well is that 66% of the fat is from monounsaturated fats. Although most people love olive oil or macadamia oil as the main source of monounsaturated fats, my personal choice would be an avocado fruit. Simply because you can just pick it off its’ tree to be eaten as it is.

So if you want to have a healthier heart and lower your cholesterol, decrease your intake of sugars and increase the input of healthy monounsaturated fats from a heart-healthy fruit, such as an avocado. You can either have it as it is or there are many recipes on how you can have it, either eaten as a mixed salad or as easy as a topping for your toast in the morning.
